Introduction to Education Technology

A university-level course, designed for pre-service teachers and administrator in Viet Nam.

The Challenge

– There is a need to expand educational access to a larger audience.
–  Past and current teachers received no formal training in technology and algorithmic-based applications.

The solution

– An online, semester-long course with four blended components
– A set of scaffolded continuous, formative, weekly assessments for learning 
– A design capstone project in the form of e-teaching-portfolio 

The science

– Andragogy: The course was designed focusing on adult-learning theories, allowing educators to take full ownership of their learning
– Conceptual change: the course draws theories exclusively related to what teachers can utilize immediately into their day-to-day teaching.
Project-based learning: Learning by collaborative doing (designing) learning experience using technologies.
